This is a very popular GM starter for 2001-2005 that mostly fits engine sizes 2.2, 3.1, 3.4, and 3.5. Rebuilders call it 6491. ID the unit with a measurement from the bottom of the magnet housing to the back of the starter 3 1/4 inches. (the black areas in the picture below)
Kits include new solenoid and bendix, new brush holder ass’y, all the bushings and snap rings you need to do a good quality rebuild.
We have many kits in stock and ready to ship! Shortly after we see your order, we send you a link to Youtube so you can begin watching your video while your kit is being shipped to you.
Our videos make the job easy, every step of the way. You can even call us, and a starter alternator rebuilder will call you back. But (worst case scenario) if you just can’t get it, you can even ship the unit to us, and we will finish the job for you, for a nominal fee not including parts.
We also boast a “no competition” presence on the web for our other educational siteswww.alternatorrebuildkits.com and www.starterrebuildkits.com. We know of no other site that provides this much actual educational material from the people who actually “do” the work, not just sit around and write articles.
Some specifications are listed above.
